American Airlines 777 First Class

American Airlines 777, www.aa.com
We flew back to the United States from London Heathrow on an American Airlines 777. We also cashed in points to get to fly First Class. You get to sit in a pod of sorts. You get your own mini desk, your seat swivels, and you basically eat your way across the Atlantic. I thought it was quite the pissy way to fly. Yes, the first class cabin and seats look like they could use a fresh look. Yes, the movie came on a small tape which you had to load into the player and then trade with other guests if you wanted to see a second movie. At least on Alaksa Airlines they give you a DigiPlayer with everything loaded on it. No trading for other tapes. Quite lame for a USA flagged carrier. But the seat is quite wide and you get tons of leg room. If you can afford it, this is the way to spend more than 6 hours on a plane. Considering the cost of that ticket you really do not get your monies worth. Wouldn't it be cool to offer these guests maybe a slice of freshly baked pie purchased from the airport? How about allowed to borrow an Ipod filled with media for the flight? Would it hurt American to offer a choice of mocha or other coffee treat? And do not even get me started on British Airways who decided that guests would like to take off and fly facing backward. WTF? Who decides this, or better yet, who approves this?? Ooo let them fly backwards so that we can jam more seats into this area. When you pay me to fly and wear a uniform, then I will consider flying backwards, until then, the seats need to face forward. Sorry, I had to get that off of my chest!
