Hala-Kahiki - Chicago / River Grove

Hala-Kahiki 2834 River Rd. River Grove IL (708) 456-3222
Hala-Kahiki goes back to when my parents went there in the 1960's. When I finally got to go, it set the standard for tiki bars. I have found none better so far. This place is funky from the moment that you step inside. (In a good way) You escape to the islands and are no longer in Northern Illinois. One visit, and it will find a place in your heart. The drinks are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The atmosphere is total tiki. The drink menu is huge and can take a while to read through it. Try the flaming drinks. What a show. They even have a little hawaii theme store attached if you get in the mood to take some tiki home with you. Next time that you are in Chicago, go here and you will always come back for more.
